  • Pricing when i delete actual Logic App and make new
by /u/Mission-Chicken4116 (Microsoft Azure) on April 18, 2024 at 3:12 pm

Hello, Im curious about situation - i was working with logic app in Azure and set Concurrency control… But now I dont think its good option for me, sadly only way to turn it off is delete afctual logic app and make new. But im little confused about pricing - when i make new Azure Logic App, it will instantly takze charge about “Storage” and “CPU” use? Does it mean this mistake cost money? Or its safe to delete and make new without any new fee. Thank you for response. submitted by /u/Mission-Chicken4116 [link] [comments]

  • On-premise DWH to Azure SQL Database: Simplest Connection Method?
by /u/Neat-Secretary8535 (Microsoft Azure) on April 18, 2024 at 2:49 pm

I have a hybrid architecture with an on-premise Microsoft SQL Server DWH and datamarts in Azure SQL Database. This is due to the company's data platform development history. Currently, it's not feasible to move the DWH to the cloud, but data needs to be transferred between on-premise DWH and Azure. What's the simplest way to connect on-premise SQL Server and Azure? Is it sufficient to establish a connection using an on-prem VPN device and an Azure VPN Gateway, without requiring additional components like DNS, etc.? I need a cost-effective solution that will get management approval. Thank You all for help, M. submitted by /u/Neat-Secretary8535 [link] [comments]

  • Progress Tracker from Azure Functions to NextJS
by /u/eggandbacon_0056 (Microsoft Azure) on April 18, 2024 at 2:36 pm

Hi, I hope someone can guide me to the right direct. I have a Azure Function that is triggered by a BlobStorage. The File get's then processed with multiple steps by the Azure Function. At the end the processed json data should be sent to a NextJS Frontend to be checked and then sent of to a CosmosDB. What Service would be best suited to implement a progress tracker and the sending from the Azure Function to NextJS? Ideally I would like some kind of a SSE or WS service / queue the NextJS subscribes to and the Azure Function sends data to with some kind of filtering based on the filename. So basically: NextJS uploads to a blob Storage -> User gets redirecte to a progress update site Azure Function gets triggered and sends progress updates to NextJS When the Azure Function is completed, send a json of the results to the NextJS webapp where the user can further process the data and then send it to a cosmosDB Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/eggandbacon_0056 [link] [comments]

  • Static web app hosting options
by /u/Rare-Brick (Microsoft Azure) on April 18, 2024 at 2:16 pm

My org is looking at a few options for hosting a static web app or three. Hosting the app on a storage account fronted by a CDN is particularly attractive to me. However; my org has had problems in the past with caching web clients and we still haven't *really* gotten a handle on cache busting. Anyone hosting static web apps in this manner, and if so how are you handling cache busting? Is there a better option? edit: Also, how do you handle CDN caching? Manually refreshing the CDN content, setting a short TTL on the content? submitted by /u/Rare-Brick [link] [comments]

  • Network Segmentation (at subnet level) of Workloads? Best Practices
by /u/techcury (Microsoft Azure) on April 18, 2024 at 1:46 pm

I'm thinking about segmenting my workloads in this way when it comes to the subnet level, and I want to know your thoughts? Web Tire (Frontend stuff) Business Tire (Services who do business logic) Data Tire (Databases and stuff related to data) Caching Tire (Redist, etc.) Now based on some of the Microservices pillar designs, it is recommended to keep the DB close to the service, in what I'm trying to do the DB will be in another Subnet, the Subnet realted to Business Tire, what do you think about this? I'm thinking that with this separation of subnets I will be able to scale and set network policies more appropriately without effecting other workloads? What worked best for you? submitted by /u/techcury [link] [comments]

  • Azure VM API
by /u/ComprehensiveSpot437 (Microsoft Azure) on April 18, 2024 at 1:28 pm

Hi all, I was tasked with populating a list of all available VMs in every region with their associated cost (PAYG, 1YR RI, 3YR RI) CPU, and RAM. For the life of me, I have been unsuccessful using the rest API’s from Microsoft’s documentation, it claims to provide that detail but when I call it, I only get 20 VMs for all US regions. Does anyone know of a better API or place for me to go and get this information? submitted by /u/ComprehensiveSpot437 [link] [comments]

  • Data Collection Rules - Splitting per OS/infra-or-security/environnement
by /u/hamster2k3 (Microsoft Azure) on April 18, 2024 at 1:17 pm

Hello all! At our company we had a discussion about splitting the DCR into multiple DCR. To me it seems like it might make things more complicated in the end. But some people think, that by splitting per environnement level, like non-prod/prod, and infrastructure/security, and then by OS Linux/Windows it will help us organize stuff and help insure the security guys that they will never loose their precious logs. But to me, Logs are all extremely important, and should all considered as security, An error could generate a password or senstitive information in a 'system' log for example. At first I thought it was a good idea, but now that I've looked into the builtin Azure Policy that manages AMA + DCR, it can support to a certain level the OS thing, but I would need to use images. But that would probably means that it will not work on images coming from the Marketplace, since they use an image and its located under storageProfile.imageReference. So I'm pretty sure that the Policy will apply only to specific VMs, and if new images are released and the policy not updated, that might create issues. Two teams manages the image and another one manages the Policy. Anyway, so, what do you guys do ? 1 DCR to rule them all ? Or multiple DCR ? And if so, what's your business logic that you use for the splitting ? submitted by /u/hamster2k3 [link] [comments]

  • S2S VPN and DNS Conditional Forwarding
by /u/No_Barnacle_7281 (Microsoft Azure) on April 18, 2024 at 1:09 pm

Hi, I was hoping someone could please offer some help/advice on an odd DNS scenario I've got. We have a use-case where we need to perform DNS resolution of isolated non-domain joined on-premises PCs by utilising Azure over a S2S IPSEC VPN link. I've spun up a small Windows VM in Azure, installed the DNS role and used this as a DNS server for the on-premises PCs - it works well. We use an external DNS service for security and the DNS queries from the Azure VM pass through a NAT Gateway to the DNS service...all good. We now need to perform some conditional forwarding which I've added to the Azure VM DNS Service, made sure NSG rules allow DNS in and out to/from the VMs, and the external DNS server's subnet is in our Local Network Gateway list...but it just doesn't work. I think the awkward part is the external DNS server is on another leg of our on-premises VPN link. To get by for now, I've just added entries into the HOSTS file on the PCs. Excuse the MS paint diagram: I'm on the PC 192.168.0.1, I'm using DNS server 172.16.100.1 which works fine. I want to conditionally forward requests for example.com to the DNS server 10.1.1.1 -I've configured conditional forwarding on 172.16.100.1 -10.1.1.0/24 is defined in my local network gateway in Azure, as well as 192.168.1.0/24 -NSG rules have been configured to allow DNS traffic outbound to Any from 172.16.100.0/24 and inbound from 192.168.1.0/24 https://preview.redd.it/om16qsrkk8vc1.png?width=607&format=png&auto=webp&s=37e951683af7f8340fcc43ba85a2fa6223f386cb Please could someone offer some advice on how I can maybe get this working - I have looked at Private Resolvers in Azure but the pricing looks a bit extreme. If there's a simpler way to do this, I'm all ears. We can't install DNS servers on premises though for this network. Thank you!! submitted by /u/No_Barnacle_7281 [link] [comments]

  • Passed the AZ-900 just now! Sharing what I did below
by /u/ShooBum-T (Microsoft Azure Certifications) on April 18, 2024 at 12:54 pm

Going through Microsoft learn course for AZ900 I would say, is pointless, as it in itself is not sufficient. Take any YouTube or Udemy course, run through it once without going in too much details and then just bombard yourself with Practice Tests. I just did these two Udemy Courses for tests. https://www.udemy.com/course/microsoft-azure-az-900-practice-tests-latest-2020/learn/quiz/4900690#overview https://www.udemy.com/course/az900-azure-tests/learn/quiz/4700490/results?expanded=1096958798#overview After that did the Practice Test on Microsoft Learn , actual test was quite similar. Pretty basic stuff. Anyways thats what I did. Now onto AZ-204. P.S : If anyone could tell me where I would be able to download the certificate , that'd be great. Thanks. 😂 submitted by /u/ShooBum-T [link] [comments]

  • My self-hosted app for cloud and devops engineers to deal with all the tools and technologies
by /u/dev_user1091 (Microsoft Azure) on April 18, 2024 at 11:48 am

I created an app for software engineers called Snipman.io >>> https://snipman.io It is a self hosted code snippet management app (currently free to download on Mac and Windows) that basically lets you store snippets by snippet types. I primarily created it because I found myself creating a lot of text files for small code snippets for different programming languages, frameworks, tools, cloud, devOps and technologies for e.g Python, PyTorch, AWS, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker etc. This not only resulted in a lot of clutter but also a pain when it came to searching and locating the correct snippet. My goal was to create something that would allow all my personal commands, configs, instructions, knowledge and snippets to be stored in a central repo locally and then have the ability to search them quickly. I believe my app helps achieve all of that through an elegant and simple to use GUI based tool. I hope all the community members here find it useful! Azure snippet example! submitted by /u/dev_user1091 [link] [comments]

Hello everyone For some time now I have been trying to create an Api to get data from azure arc into Splunk. I also succeeded, but I can't get data from azure Arc, tried countless documents from azure, but none of it is something I can use. Is there anyone here with experience on this subject, or has tried it before.
