  • [Xpost from Powershell] Ever just need your own CI/CD pipeline? I did...

https://www.reddit.com/r/PowerShell/comments/10rap0j/ever_just_need_your_own_cicd_pipeline_i_did/ Edit: GIT: https://github.com/FreeGuy123/DirtyCICD/tree/main You can find the code over at the link above. I was in a situation where I needed rapid build and deployment for testing and the configured company devops policies got in the way (Yes my boss knows) of this edge case. The script builds your docker image, pushes it to an ACR, and then removes your old aks environment replacing it with your new build. If you have questions I am happy to answer them or if you have suggestions for improvement I would love that more. Feel free to us some or all. by /u/Next-Employment9594 (Microsoft Azure Certifications) on February 1, 2023 at 11:25 pm

I have been thinking about pursing Azure certifications for a while. I am an IT Specialist in the Texas Army National Guard. I have a month, maybe 2 month, break from school and am thinking of going after AZ-900 then maybe AZ-104. Are the learning modules on microsoft learn enough to pass these exams? If not what are some good resources? Are these certifications, along with an IT background, enough for employers to consider hiring you? What are some of the salaries yall have seen for entry to medium level jobs. submitted by /u/Next-Employment9594 [link] [comments]

by /u/Relm_Arrowny_ff6 (Microsoft Azure Certifications) on February 1, 2023 at 9:58 pm

What's the main differences between Windows Server 2012 R2 and 2022 ? I am studying Windows Server 2012 R2 with a Mark Minasi 1600 pages book who explains everything in details after I wanted to jump to the containers and the new stuffs of 2022 like azure etc I already knows about a lot of stuffs like vm etc I wanted to know what's the main new core features of 2022 over 2012 and if it's still worth it to learn all the old stuffs by hands in both linux and windows server before I go get my Azure certifications ? or everything is so automated in the cloud that managing your own AD or DNS DHCP or deploying windows on the network isn't worth learning anymore since we have intune, endpoint and all the rest of the cloud services ? I am studying some powershell too and I feel that with the cloud even powershell won't matters much is that true or ? I mean the configurations of the os and everything will be automated with thin client on the cloud ? or serverless lamda iac etc does it still matters to learn the old server on premise stuffs or I am wasting my time ? submitted by /u/Relm_Arrowny_ff6 [link] [comments]

  • Azure Function Not being Triggered...
by /u/jbezorg76 (Microsoft Azure) on February 1, 2023 at 9:20 pm

I have a situation where there's a pre-existing Azure Function App already in Azure, and I need to add a function to it. It's a timer triggered function, but every time I try to make this right, I get a message saying that there's no trigger for the function. I built this initially in the portal, and now it's necessary for it to be a project in a solution (so that CI/CD can happen). I noticed that other functions have a Startup.cs file - my project that I created in VS 2022 doesn't have that file. Is it necessary for my function to run? If so, do I make this by hand, or is it generated somewhere? I guess what I'm confused on is how this is supposed to start. I get the timer trigger kicks off the function, but it seems like nothing is registering the function itself for the timer to be called to begin with. Here's the code... run.csx public static void Run(TimerInfo refreshTimer, ILogger log) { ... } function.js { "bindings": [ { "name": "refreshTimer", "type": "timerTrigger", "direction": "in", "schedule": "*/20 * * * * *" } ], "retry": { "strategy": "exponentialBackoff", "maxRetryCount": 5, "minimumInterval": "00:00:20", "maximumInterval": "00:01:00" } } I've tried downloading the code from the portal and importing that into VS and then publishing using the publishing profile that I also downloaded from the portal. No dice. I keep getting errors saying that Azure functions require a trigger and no trigger was found. Can someone help me with this please? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/jbezorg76 [link] [comments]

  • Fastest method to set NTFS ACLs in Azure Files shares?
by /u/OperationRepulsive61 (Microsoft Azure) on February 1, 2023 at 8:11 pm

Changing the ACLs on an Azure Files share via Set-ACL is incredibly slow. Like 48 hours to do ACLs on 10TB of data. Storage account and specific file share in question are hot tier, so there shouldn't be any relevant IOPS limits. Storage account is accessed via a private endpoint. Accessing the share directly from within an Azure VM and mounted via SMB, so there shouldn't be any relevant bandwidth limits. Is there a faster way to interface with the share somewhere? I've looked at Cloud Shell, but it doesn't seem like there's a way to get inside the share (Only access the portal side). submitted by /u/OperationRepulsive61 [link] [comments]

  • Logic Apps Standard - macOS Designer issue
by /u/Mindless-Luck4285 (Microsoft Azure) on February 1, 2023 at 7:42 pm

Are there any other Logic App Standard users on macOS finding it’s not possible to open. A workflow in the VSCode designer starting this week? My environment was fine last week, now I’m unable to work. I get an error about a missing dll that cannot be found in the path. I wiped and setup a fresh environment on another M1 Mac and get the same error. I can create an empty workflow, but cannot edit that or existing workflows. I’ve tried both Functions Core Tools V3 and V4. I have opened an issue on the Logic Apps GitHub, but they tend to review these infrequently. Any help most welcome. submitted by /u/Mindless-Luck4285 [link] [comments]

  • Failed to start virtual machine during Azure migration from classic
by /u/umair01 (Microsoft Azure) on February 1, 2023 at 6:54 pm

Hey Everyone, I'm getting a Failed to start virtual machine 'sql08r2sp2tmc1'. Error: Management operations on VM 'sql08r2sp2tmc1' are disallowed because migration is in progress. The migration's been going on for 12 hours now. Microsoft's helps says do this but I'm too unfamiliar with PS/CLI to do it: This error occurs because the VM is in Prepare state and therefore locked for any update/delete operation. Call Abort using PS/CLI on the VM to roll back the migration and unlock the VM for update/delete operations. Calling commit will also unlock the VM but will commit the migration to ARM. Can anyone help me on how to do it? submitted by /u/umair01 [link] [comments]

  • Help with initial setup of MSP using Azure/Microsoft Partner account.
by /u/patg84 (Microsoft Azure) on February 1, 2023 at 6:43 pm

I tried to setup a Microsoft Partner account. We need a Microsoft Partner ID or whatever it's called so we can be authorized to resell through our vendor. My question is: I've apparently set this up in the past and I'm confused as all hell with Azure, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Admin Center, etc. There's two emails associated with my azure account and the primary one is wrong but I can't seem to remove it. Is there a phone number where I can speak with someone who will assist in getting this bs corrected so we can proceed? submitted by /u/patg84 [link] [comments]

We deployed the combined SSPR/MFA awhile ago and when we set it up, using the MS Authentictor app with push notifications was the default option.
