  • Azure to AWS Redundant S2S BGP announcements
by /u/Overtly_salty123456 (Microsoft Azure) on April 22, 2024 at 3:58 pm

-Hello All Trying to figure out some route announcement behavior I'm seeing. I've set up redundant AWS VPNs to my Azure deployment. Basic config following the document outlined here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/vpn-gateway-howto-aws-bgp Everything looks fine, all 4 BGP peers are up, however the advertised routes from Azure are different among the sets of peers. AWS Tunnel1:(receives 2 BGP routes each) Peer 1 Receives VMnet + My AWS PTP IP network for VPN tunnel 2, peer 1 only Peer 2 Receives VMnet + My AWS PTP IP network for VPN tunnel 2, peer 1 only AWS Tunnel2:(receives 1 BGP routes each) Peer 1 Receives VMnet only Peer 2 Receives VMnet only I've checked the config a few times not and they all look correct. Any thoughts on why I would see this advertising behavior? submitted by /u/Overtly_salty123456 [link] [comments]

  • User missing under "Users" and MyApps, but using an app that is granted access
by /u/donmreddit (Microsoft Azure) on April 22, 2024 at 3:19 pm

I am attempting to find all users of apps in Entra. The reason is we want to remove some apps, and direct users to approved apps that are integrated in Entra (how many different calendar apps do you need, after all?) BUT we have a user who is using an app but not in the Users/Groups list under the right AppID in Entra Enterprise App Page in the Portal. I have a user who went to an app site (lets call it CalX). They signed in, and authenticated, I see a SAML Auth event to the CalX web site. I see events that they have shared their calendar, and have had some items posted. These are exchange events, I see the date/subject line, and they line up when we know that a user clicked on their calendar link hosted by CalX. However, they do not show up under "Users and Groups" in the Entra enterprise app view, and the app does not show up on their MyApps page but some others do. Looking for two things. 1) What can account for this - active authenticated app usage where the App Id all matches up, but user is not listed? 2) Is there a simple PoSH script I can use to get all assigned / opted in users who granted access? (maybe a clue will surface)> thanks submitted by /u/donmreddit [link] [comments]

  • recommendation needed: Azure update management or separate management for linux and windows ( RHUI, WSUS, etc.)
by /u/def_struct (Microsoft Azure) on April 22, 2024 at 3:03 pm

I'm leaning towards Azure update management to maintain my vms but wanting to know pros and cons of using this for both linux and windows instead of getting vendor specific management tools. compliance is key so the vms I have to manage are STIG variants. Any inputs is appreciated. submitted by /u/def_struct [link] [comments]

  • Existing Azure environment review
by /u/awwyeahitsgood (Microsoft Azure) on April 22, 2024 at 2:45 pm

I’m looking for a guide or perhaps even a set of steps for walking through an existing environment and reviewing the resources for best practices. App services/plans, VMs, storage accounts, network/vnet set up, etc. The goal is to assess an existing environment and make suggestions for best practices for the resources. submitted by /u/awwyeahitsgood [link] [comments]

  • Print Server as an Azure VM Scale set
by /u/LMNPChuy (Microsoft Azure) on April 22, 2024 at 2:26 pm

Has anyone deployed a print server as an Azure VM Scale set? If so what are some do's and don'ts. I am hesitant to built two print servers as I would like to spin down or even stop the print server when load is known to be low. Opposite is true as well. submitted by /u/LMNPChuy [link] [comments]

by /u/Rise2Fate (Microsoft Azure) on April 22, 2024 at 1:04 pm

Hey guys. I am new to azure and IaC and have a question about bicep. I know there is complete mode that deletes ressources that are not defined in the Code, but does this also apply to changes to the ressource. For example: I deploy a vm via code, but dont use the Tag parameter I then assign a tag manually to the vm and run the code again Will it delete the Tag i manually assigned? submitted by /u/Rise2Fate [link] [comments]

  • Preparing for the AZ-104 exam as a computer science graduates
by /u/842154238421542 (Microsoft Azure Certifications) on April 22, 2024 at 12:17 pm

I started a new job in a company. I am aiming for AZ-104. I am now planning to book the exam in exactly 3 months from today and study for it. First I am going through the Microsoft Learn course called "Microsoft Azure Administrator". It has a lot of modules. After I've gone through it and taken notes, I'll try to build it up in the lab and prepare myself more specifically for the exam. I come from a computer science degree and am used to exams. Do you think 3 months is realistic for the AZ-104? submitted by /u/842154238421542 [link] [comments]

  • Defender for Identity or not?
by /u/Oskar_2000 (Microsoft Azure) on April 22, 2024 at 11:39 am

Hello, I want a system where I get alerts for lateral movements in the network and when users try to elevate permissons. Read about Defender for Identity which seems to be what I'm looking for, but think it's unclear if it only works with users/computers that authenticates to "on-prem Active directory"? I have an On-Prem AD and sync users, but all users log in to Entra-ID Joined computers. My plan is also to remove the on-prem active directory/sync and run cloud native with all our M365/Azure resources. Will Defender for Indentity help me or are there other tools I should look at instead? Thanks submitted by /u/Oskar_2000 [link] [comments]

  • EntraID Join - Something Went Wrong
by /u/Dull-Moment-1596 (Microsoft Azure) on April 22, 2024 at 8:08 am

Hello All, I currently have an issue with a device when joining to EntraID - I get the attached screenshot. I have encountered similar issues in the past which always resulted in an error code but this gives me nothing. A fix that normally works is either using a different account to join it to EntraID or disabling MDM temporarily to join it but neither are working. I have also tried on a new local admin account. Any suggestions would be great. https://preview.redd.it/yt5requwnzvc1.png?width=641&format=png&auto=webp&s=8568734d7db2271ec2ec66d6421863b9cf6532f0 submitted by /u/Dull-Moment-1596 [link] [comments]

  • Can I use 1 self hosted integrated runtime to retrieve data from 2 different servers?
by /u/kbic93 (Microsoft Azure) on April 22, 2024 at 7:37 am

Hello, So we currently have a selfhosted integrated runtime set up in data factory to retrieve data from an on premise mysql server. This connection is made possible by setting up a virtual machine in Azure that acts as the node to connect to that on premise server. we have another on premise server where I would like to collect data from. I am now wondering if its possible to just use the same self hosted integrated runtime to connect to the new on premise server to retrieve the data? Or do I need to set up a new virtual machine inside for that connection? I would think it is possible to connect with the same self hosted integrated runtime. However, when I install the self hosted integrated runtime tool on that new on premise server and I try to register key, I keep getting invalid key? submitted by /u/kbic93 [link] [comments]

  • Weird behaviour container app
by /u/Top_Toe8606 (Microsoft Azure) on April 22, 2024 at 6:51 am

I have a web app angular service sending API requests to a spring boot backend inside of a container app. Now the behaviour of the container app is very weird. Sometimes it works and responds right away and sometimes for the exact same requests it switches to failed. The request is then pending for 5 minutes then it goes through and the app says active again. What can cause random failures? The console and system logs don't say anything. submitted by /u/Top_Toe8606 [link] [comments]
